Alfred Loewenthal was a founding member of the Metal Recyclers Association of South Africa (“MRA”) and his son David, joint Managing Director of Universal Recycling, has been Chairman of the MRA for 9 terms and is an Honorary Life Committee member of the Association.

Universal Recycling has been a member of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (“ISRI”), based in Washington, DC, USA, for the last 31 years.

Universal Recycling is also a member of the Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association (“AFRA”), an international group that regulates the safe recycling of large civilian and military aircraft worldwide.
